Tracie

WELCOME!  I'm Tracie.  I have been intrigued by the beauty of American Sign Language since I was a young child, often borrowing books on ASL from the local library and working to learn the language on my own. I love seeing the little faces of the children light up when we read books, sing songs, and do activities together all while learning signs from American Sign Language.  I love hearing from parents and providers about how quickly their children are learning and how helpful sign language is with all areas of development! I welcome you to explore the website, and see what I can offer. Please contact me if you have any questions or ideas for a class you think would work well for your family or group.   — I'd love to meet you!

I provide sign language instruction to groups of children in family childcare, daycare centers, home school groups, families, and community education programs.

My classes incorporate ASL vocabulary, stories, songs, movement activities, and miscellaneous projects and games.

I provide ongoing weekly, biweekly, or monthly classes.  As well as single session sign language instruction or story/music/sign-language workshops.

Testimonials…

  • "We love having sign language at daycare! The kids often refer back to what they’ve learned, showing me and their parents the signs from that month’s lessons with Mrs. Tracie. They are always excited about the books she shares and love coming together as a group to sing the songs with her. It is such a fun part of our day. "

Anna, owner of Anna's Daycare in Rochester, MN

  • "My kids are always asking when Miss Tracie is coming back!! ❤️"

    Maribeth’s Family Child Care

  • "You have a great balance of keeping the kids on task in the time you have with us and allowing their stories and personalities to be acknowledged. You group management is fantastic and you always bring the best songs and stories! My kids love your classes!"

Katie Derby, Family Child Care Provider

  • "My younger kids are picking up on the signs well before they can communicate with spoken language. It is so fun to see them use their signs. Whether it be one they learned in your class or the basic ones we use here everyday. I will have parents ask me what a sign means because they see their child using it at home as well."

    Heidi (Family Child Care Provider)

  • "I work in special education and with my daughter in the same district she has seen me interact with students who utilize signing. She wanted to learn as well and was excited when I told her she could take a class and learn some as well!"

Wendy (Parent of a student enrolled in community education Sign Language).
